Not much to say. Still alive and kicking. Went out and saw both the next Narnia
movie as well as Grandpa Jones and the Wheel of Fortune
. SUCK. Yes, it's true, it's true. I wouldn't have believed it either.
Narnia was just boring. I kept waiting for something to happen but it never did. Save yourself the trouble and go re-watch LotR: the Two Towers
and pretend that everyone's a kid. Seriously. I don't remember the book (damn head injuries!) but I couldn't help but think it was the same movie, only not as good. Not nearly as good.
Indy was...well, I probably shouldn't make the 'old people doing stuff' jokes like everybody else is. Harrison Ford is still awesome enough to pull it off, especially as Doctor Jones is a teacher and an archaeologist. And if he's got a kid taking care of a lot of the big action scenes. But still, Harrison Ford was about the only
good thing about the movie. Without spoiling too much, Indy survives an atomic bomb(!) in the first big action scene. And, of course, we've all seen the monkeys teaching Shia LaBeouf how to swing from vine to vine in the commercials. *facepalm* You think I'm kidding, but I'm not. THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS.
Not sure whether I'd give them either two or three beers on my patented six-pack scale. I'm thinking three...they sucked, they were boring, but they weren't exactly bad
. I could see someone watching it on HBO in a couple of months when it's free and thinking that maybe Narnia was okay. Indy had enough amusing scenes in it to be entertaining, though the non-Indy characters were lame and overall the plot sucked. But maybe I'm being a little too lenient as I had been drinking before each film. (And you people wonder how the six-pack movie rating scale got started...)
